WORKSHOP DETAILS
Join us this fall for a weekly exploration of the movement, artistry, and repertory of Isadora Duncan (1877–1927). Meeting once a week for three hours, this immersive workshop will culminate in an open rehearsal where participants will share excerpts of their work and creative process.

We welcome a small group of dedicated and curious dancers interested in deepening their understanding of Duncan's expressive movement language. Each Sunday session will begin with a technique class, followed by the study of Duncan repertory taught by Artistic Director Francesca Todesco and members of Dances We Dance. This year's workshop will also include a collaborative creative component, with part of the repertory time devoted to developing a new work inspired by Duncan's movement principles and artistic vision.

Participants who wish to take part in the open rehearsal are encouraged to attend most Sunday sessions. Please note that portions of the repertory may involve sustained aerobic movement.

To keep the workshop accessible, the fee is $20 per session. Dancers who wish to attend only the technique class are also welcome at the same rate. Previous experience with Duncan technique is not required—only curiosity, commitment, and a willingness to explore this rich movement tradition.

More than learning choreography, this workshop offers an opportunity to experience the living legacy of one of modern dance's most influential pioneers. Through movement, historical context, and creative exploration, participants will discover how Duncan's revolutionary ideas continue to inform contemporary dance and artistic expression.

Grounded in breath, musicality, and movement initiated from the solar plexus, Duncan's technique remains remarkably relevant today. Whether you are new to her work or returning to deepen your practice, this workshop invites you to engage with authentic repertory while exploring its possibilities through a contemporary lens.

Join us for an inspiring journey into the origins—and continuing evolution—of modern dance.
Please note that space is limited for the repertory session. Sign up soon to secure your spot. Priority will be given to dancers who can commit to most sessions.
