Join us for a 5-day intensive workshop and immerse yourself in Duncan’s timeless movement, in the city where Duncan lived, created, and profoundly shaped the history of modern dance.. The week will culminate in a public showing—bringing to life the vibrant legacy of modern dance and sharing it with today’s audience.
This course will be taught in English.

Workshop description:
Through daily technique classes and repertory sessions, we will explore Duncan’s revolutionary approach to movement: musicality, natural gesture, breath, expression, and the connection between the body and the world around us.
The workshop is intended for dancers and movers with some experience in dance or movement training who are interested in exploring Isadora Duncan’s technique, repertory, and artistic legacy.
No previous experience with Duncan technique or repertory is required. However, because the workshop includes sustained technique work, learning choreography, and creative exploration, we recommend having some prior experience with dance or movement.
The workshop is open to those encountering Duncan for the first time as well as dancers who already have experience with her work and wish to deepen their understanding and practice.
Repertory sessions may also be attended as observation sessions for the same registration rate. This option is available to those who would like to study the repertory from the perspective of observation, research, or preparation before participating physically.
The intensive will culminate in a student showing on December 31, offering participants the opportunity to share the work with an audience and experience Duncan’s living legacy on stage.

Description de l’atelier:
À travers des cours quotidiens de technique et des séances de répertoire, nous explorerons l’approche révolutionnaire d’Isadora Duncan du mouvement : la musicalité, le geste naturel, la respiration, l’expression et la relation entre le corps et le monde qui nous entoure.
​
L’atelier s’adresse aux danseurs et aux personnes ayant une pratique du mouvement, avec une certaine expérience de la danse ou d’une formation corporelle, qui souhaitent explorer la technique, le répertoire et l’héritage artistique d’Isadora Duncan.
​
Aucune expérience préalable de la technique ou du répertoire de Duncan n’est requise. Toutefois, l’atelier comprenant un travail technique soutenu, l’apprentissage de chorégraphies et une exploration créative, il est recommandé d’avoir une certaine expérience préalable de la danse ou du mouvement.
​
L’atelier est ouvert aussi bien aux personnes qui découvrent Duncan pour la première fois qu’aux danseurs ayant déjà une expérience de son œuvre et souhaitant approfondir leur compréhension et leur pratique.
​
Les séances de répertoire peuvent également être suivies en tant qu’observateur, au même tarif d’inscription. Cette possibilité s’adresse aux personnes qui souhaitent étudier le répertoire dans une perspective d’observation, de recherche ou de préparation avant de participer physiquement.
​
L’intensive se terminera par une présentation des participants le 31 décembre, offrant à chacun l’occasion de partager le travail avec un public et de faire l’expérience, sur scène, de l’héritage vivant d’Isadora Duncan.
